Newcomers Ministry
Our Purpose
“To offer love through organized ministry serving newcomers and helping them to settle and adapt in the new culture.”
We accept referrals through church website, facebook, emails, walkins - referral from churches in Egypt. It does not matter to us if the person is an immigrant or refugee - we are here to help.
Scope of Ministry
- Hospitality _ arranging and co-ordinating for an individual or family temporary accomodation
- Transportation from airport - if planned ahead. Co-ordinate transportation to church where possible
- Documents _ assistance with completing documents such as OHIP SIN and driver's license etc.
- Assistance with health insurance
- asistance with choice of schools
- orientation - help with resume and help with where to start for job search etc.
Resources / Volunteers Needed
- With passion for this ministry - people who remember how it felt like when they first arrived.
- Drivers, people who can accomodate a person or family for few days or a week until they find place to live, people who can drive others around to do their shopping .
- To help with online support for doocumentation
- Financial support if possible
- Furniture in very good condition
- Teachers to help with English
